The festival is over and the audiences of the RiverRun International Film Festival connected with Postales.  As we walked along the streets of Winston-Salem, NC or watched movies, it was amazing to be stopped by people who had watched the film to be told, “I really enjoyed the film…Thank you for showing the film at the festival…The kids were great…I liked the story and the message…I can’t wait to see more films from you guys.”

We also met a lot of great filmmakers, journalists, and festival folks who helped to us re-energize and advise us on how to navigate the tricky waters of today’s distribution.  Hopefully these chance encounters will help Postales find a good home at festivals throughout the US and with distributors trying to find good films.  Deep thanks to all the folks we met in Winston-Salem – you all know who you are.  We’ll be in touch and thanks for all the advice and thoughts on our film.

Some reviews are starting to come out from the festival and this is one of our favorites to date.  It might have even made some of our producers cry, in a good way. (hehehehehehehehe)

As we’ve been working to find the North American Premiere for Postales, we’ve also had a bit of time to travel.  A couple days after the Edinburgh Int’l Film Festival, Dan Fischer, a producer and the cinematographer of the film, traveled through Peru to catch up with the crew and cast of Postales.

Our hope is to create a Peruvian revenue stream that goes directly to support various NGO’s in Cuzco which support street kids.  This is the first step in having the film give back to the community it came from.  Thanks for the support and enjoy the photos from our cast and crew in Peru.

As the Postales entourage walked to it’s very first screening, we were all curious who would be introducing our film.  No one knew and then we were humbled, excited, and slowly understood how our film from the streets of Cuzco, Peru has creeped into the hearts of Scotland and the festival director, Hannah McGill.  As we arrived they told us that she would be doing our intro and our Q and A.  A TRULY CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE.  Now all bask in the glory of one of the young, vibrant, soldier of CINEMA and STORYTELLING.  The one, the only…HANNAH MCGILL.

She doesn’t mess about.  And if you come into Hannah’s Edinburgh International House of Cinema.  Remember STORY, STORY, STORY!
